Outpost Blend is like sitting on the front porch in your favorite rocking chair, looking out to the lake watching the loons as the rain rolls in...
This brew is solid, with a nice mix of flavors, none of which overwhelm the others.
I only drink one cup of coffee a day so am not even through with the coconut cream yet. But it is very good.
Excellent as is all your coffees. Get to enjoy twice. First the smell when I grind the beans and second when I get to taste it.
I ordered 5 different flavors but had to start my coffee drinking with the White Chocolate! Smooth, rich, and delicious! Absolutely love it!
This coffee is like a cup of hot chocolate with a caffeine lift. That experience is enhanced by adding half and half instead of milk to make the chocolatey flavor that much more rich and creamy. You can even throw in a couple of miniature marshmallows for good measure - warm appetit.
What's really nutty is that I don't buy this one more often, because I really love nut flavors in my beverages. It's really good and I'm always a little sad when it runs out.
We get this quite often. It's flavorful and excellent but less obviously "you're tasting *this*" than many other varieties, so it's a solid option when entertaining guests who don't like flavored coffees as much.
The first time we picked up this flavor, we were hesitant. The beans had a distinct cherry scent to them, and although we've never had a coffee flavor from The Outpost that we just couldn't drink, we've found that we're not big fans of fruity coffees (purely a matter of taste, mind you). However, despite that scent, Black Forest Cake has dominant coconut and chocolate flavors, with the cherry only hinted at on the back of the tongue, and our enjoyment of those two flavors is well-documented.
So, this variety remains on our "long rotation" list - coffees we like well enough to buy once in a while, but not so much that we do so often. It's a good brew to pick up if you feel like you want to branch out to new flavors and already enjoy other chocolate-based and/or coconut-dominant offerings.
I admit, I am a coffee snob. I love a strong black cup of coffee especially if you ad a side slice of New York Cheesecake! My love for coffee goes back to when I was a little girl sitting with my grandmother & grandfather sharing a morning cup. Coffee has always been my treasured beverage and I was always searching for the right one. After I tried Outpost Cast Iron Dark I was a lifer! When I decided to buy a fancy new coffee machine, the manufacturer recommended dry beans over the (as we call them) greasy beans. I wasn’t sure what I was going to do so I sent a message to Ron & Michelle and they suggested I try Outpost Buffalo Plaid - a mix of both. It is now my “go to” and one year later the fancy machine is still pumping out the best coffee ever….and I have a reputation in the neighborhood for my coffee! The fancy coffee machine wouldn’t be as great if it wasn’t for the Best Coffee!
A coffee shop opened up in my tiny college town during my fourth year of school - the first one I had ever seen. I drank coffee, but I had never had coffee like this - coffee with flavors other than "whatever gets the caffeine into my veins." I quickly discovered my love of hazelnut, chocolate, and cinnamon coffees, and although I branched out as I got older, those flavors have long held a special place in my heart.
Flambeau River takes me back to those warm memories of armchair philosophy chats and spontaneous poetry readings, mixing together the flavors of hazelnut, chocolate, and cinnamon into a delightful blend.
It is my favorite so far. Love to grind my own beans for more flavor and aroma. ❤️❤️❤️
I spend most of the summer season as a camper in Webb Lake, so getting my fav blends is easy. But, when I ran out, I thought I'd need to take a road trip to get restocked. Online ordering was simple, fast and the note card thanking me for my business was very appreciated. Thanks
